New WordPress website for KH Electrical
This week we launched a Responsive WordPress website for Southwell based electricians KH Electrical. The new site replaced an old ‘build it yourself’ site and allowed for a completely custom, mobile friendly design.
Web design
We created a mobile Responsive design based on the KH branding. Rather than running a separate mobile site, the website changes shape to suit various screen sizes. The menu changes to suit smaller screens and the site also uses scalable icons that appear sharp on high resolution devices like Apple Retina displays. With so many people using their tablets and phones to access websites these days, a Responsive site is necessary to allow them to view your site content properly.
WordPress build
Once the new designs were created, we turned them into a lightweight WordPress theme complete with touch enabled homepage slider and a contact form that checks for errors and also filters out spam emails.
We make all pages, images and banners editable from WordPress to keep ongoing maintenance costs down. The homepage shows the latest news and Tweets automatically to keep the homepage fresh.
Search engine setup
A search engine helper plugin for WordPress helps with keyword placement, which parts of the site can be indexed by search engines and also adds sitemaps to help all pages get picked up. We set up Google Analyticsa and Google Webmaster Tools so KH can monitor visitors.
Social media
We set up and branded Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages for KH. Combined with regular blogs in the news section, social media updates will help the business promote their services locally and further afield.
The new website runs on our green web hosting, which is a perfect fit for KH as they are renewable energy installation specialists.
