1. Shopify

Shopify is a hosted ecommerce platform with a monthly fee. That mean Shopify host your website for you. A basic shop is quick and cheap to set up, but adding features can often add a lot to the monthly cost. They can take care of payment processing too, if you haven’t got a PayPal account.

Ballpark costs: £500 for setup, adding some products, testing and training, then your monthly fee (around £30) plus any add-ons you need

2. WordPress & WooCommerce

This is our preferred system as you don’t get locked into high monthly fees for what can sometimes be basic functionality. We are also experts at styling WordPress sites so can tailor it to your branding quickly. PayPal and Stripe are supported for free, with other payment systems like Sage and WorldPay available.

Ballpark costs: £600 for install, basic customisation, testing and training, including a year’s green web hosting
