New website launched for Hughes Craven

This week we have launched a new Responsive WordPress based website for Lincoln based business Hughes Craven. The company is an independent consultancy specialising in geology, minerals and waste planning and environmental assessment.

Design

With an abstract concept like consulting, we avoided using long blocks of text and used large images for the homepage, sectors and services pages. We picked a colour scheme to match the existing branding and the site is Responsive, so changes shape to suit various screen sizes. A slide out menu is used for smaller screens and makes browsing the site much easier.

WordPress setup

We used WordPress for the new site and included a selection of tried and tested plugins to help with search engine optimisation, the contact form and custom fields for the homepage. A custom WordPress theme was coded to be as light as possible to improve loading times and was tested across a range of desktop and mobile browsers.

Working with Hughes Craven’s IT company we redirected the website to run on our UK based green web hosting.
