WordPress & WooCommerce website launched for Iguazu Fair Trade

iguazu-wordpress-woocommerce-nottingham

We’re excited to launch this WordPress & WooCommerce redesign for Nottingham based Fair Trade business Iguazu.

Green Web Hosting

The new site runs on our green web hosting, which is fast, UK based and now comes with a free SSL certificate. This increases customer confidence by showing a ‘secure’ note in the browser address bar and Google also like to see sites running with SSL security.

Web Design

Iguazu’s old website was showing it’s age a little, didn’t represent their branding and the site wasn’t mobile friendly. We produced a clean new design based on Iguazu’s branding and colours. The site now changes to suit various screen sizes for mobile devices and desktop computers.

With a large search bar and product focus on the homepage, the site is designed to encourage sales.

WordPress build

All our WordPress sites are built with custom themes to keep things clean and fast loading. We also extend the standard functionality with a variety of content templates so text and images can be laid out nicely without any coding knowledge required.

A news & blog section means Iguazu can keep customers up to date with new products and fair trade developments while at the same time appealing to search engines.

Mailchimp has been integrated to automatically sign people up to the Iguazu newsletter. A few customisations also make the site harder to break into for hackers.

WooCommerce

To keep things loading fast, we removed the standard WooCommerce styles and matched the shop section to the custom design. We’veĀ  customised the WooCommerce listing and product pages, adding features like number of products to show on the listing pages and lightweight social sharing buttons on the product page.

PDF packing lists and invoices have also been added to make despatching packages easier.

Product Import

We saved the Iguazu team hours of tedious image editing, uploading and product entry. A batch conversion with watermarks and a mass file upload took care of the images. A spreadsheet import of the products then got most of their product range uploaded in one go.

Search Engine Setup

A search engine helper plugin was added so Iguazu can optimise their own pages, blogs and product pages and make them more search engine friendly.

We used Iguazu’s Google account to set up Google Analytics and Search Console on the new site. A dashboard within WordPress shows an overview of traffic so they can monitor how effective their marketing activities are in increasing visitors.

Redirects were also added for key site pages to keep any external links pointing to the right place.
