WordPress & WooCommerce website launched for AirProfiling
AirProfiling Ltd. is a tech start-up which markets uHoo, a premium air quality monitor with nine sensors to analyse and provide data on indoor air quality issues. AirProfiling Ltd. got in touch with several website specialists to enquire about the construction of a WordPress and WooCommerce based website. FCS was commissioned to do the work.
Hosting
The site runs on our green web hosting, which is perfect for WordPress and WooCommerce websites. We set up email addresses and installed the free SSL certificate that comes with our hosting packages.
Design
With strong branding and product shots in place already, we wire-framed and designed a new site for the UK market. Focusing on the applications for the monitors and the LITE and PRO models, the homepage helps people see the benefits of uHoo and leads them to the relevant product page.
WordPress build
The site uses our custom made WordPress theme, using streamlined code to ensure the site loads as fast as possible. Ready made WordPress themes often come with lots of code that never gets used. We hand code as much functionality as possible to avoid installing too many plugins. the breathing logo on the homepage and zoom effects on the applications panel add some nice dynamic touches without being too distracting.
Our flexible template for WordPress allows easy creation and editing of text pages around the site, using full width images, columns and gallery panels to present content in more visual ways than a ‘wall of text’.
WooCommerce
We added a few extra features to the site including bulk discounts, automatically adding the PRO licenses to the basket and asking people where they found out about uHoo on the checkout. Extra editable panels were added to the product pages to show dimensions and what comes in the box.
Various payment gateways are available for WooCommerce including PayPal, SagePay and WorldPay. We’re working on adding a shipping plugin that calculates live rates from couriers to offer the best value postage for customers.
Testing
As with all our website builds, the code is tested against W3C standards, a link checker is run and the site’s tested on a variety of Mac, PC and mobile browsers. The contact forms and order process are also tested out before launch.
Search Engine Setup
Yoast SEO was added to WordPress, along with a plugin to help it read the custom fields we added. Yoast helps you optimise your own website pages, allowing you to set a keyword and then offering tips of how to better use that keyword in your page content. This gives you back control of your SEO and saves expensive agency fees!
We set up Google Analytics and Search Console for the new site and it got added to Google’s index within a few days of launch.
