The owner is a Buddhist, a vegetarian and keen on ethical issues. The guiding principles of FCS Websites are that we will always tell you the truth in plain English, and only provide you with things that you really need. We are not a small company pretending to be big and will only take on projects we know we can deliver. Our lasting relationships with our clients are more important than quick profit.

Open

We take a very straightforward approach to business. We will tell you exactly what is going on with your site at all times and promise never to blag you or fib to you. Each web project has a clear scope of works and timescale, so you know exactly what you are getting and when it will be complete.

We aim to use as many Open Source and/or free technologies as possible such as Firefox, Linux, PHP and MySQL. By doing so, we help you to avoid pricey, proprietary technologies that drain your resources.

We do use some commercial software when building your site - sometimes it really is worth having supported software that is going to be around for the duration.

Ethical

• Recycling of everything that we can via council collections and websites such as www.freecycle.org and www.dontdumpthat.com.
• Using Green web hosting.
• Treating people as we would want to be treated.
• Paying our suppliers on time.
• Supporting local trade (products and services).
• Declining any work that has a purposefully negative impact on environmental or social factors.

There are many other areas that we can and will get involved in, and our ethical policy come from a fundamental desire to make a positive contribution, not just to sound like we care because it's trendy.

But I don't care about ethics!

You like to be told the truth, to be able to trust people and to know that someone is not just out to make a quick dollar off you. Therefore, you do care about our ethics :)
