Cotswold Luxury Tours

We were excited to work with Cotswold Luxury Tours to help with a rebrand and new website. They offer personalised tours of the Cotswolds area in a luxury Mercedes limousine or people carrier. Having looked after their previous site for several years it was great to help develop the next version of the business. Jon and Kerry are an absolute pleasure to work with, and Jon’s long time friend and collaborator Bill Bolton Illustration provided the amazing Cotswold map artwork.

Green Web Hosting

We moved the site onto our fast, UK based green web hosting to upgrade from the oversold and feature poor shared hosting previously used. We set up the included SSL certificate and email forwarders, and changed the web address when the new site went live. We keep the WordPress install up to date and take regular backups to keep things safe from hackers.

Branding

Jon decided to refocus what the business offers, changing the name from Cotswold Chaffeur to Cotswold Luxury Tours. Based on his excellent brief and retaining the colour scheme for continuity, we created a number of logo ideas before settling on the wheatsheaf logo. This has been used across the website, social media and other materials as part of the rebranding.

Web Design

The Cotswolds are absolutely stunning at any time of the year, so we made sure to use a huge video background on the homepage header area as well as large images around the site to get people excited about visiting the area. The site works on desktops, tablets and mobiles of course.

WordPress Website Build

We then turned these designs into a fast loading, easy to edit WordPress theme using Advanced Custom Fields. A flexible page template means Jon can easily add attractive, image heavy pages at any time. The blog section also enables him to update with regular news and pictures from the local area.

Search Engine Setup

To make sure the domain name change was picked up and the old pages ended up at the right place on the new site, we added search engine friendly redirects on site launch. Google’s Site Kit plugin was added to install Analytics and allow easy monitoring of incoming traffic, any potential issues and the site’s Pagespeed scores.
