Martin Wilkinson, Newark

Martin Wilkinson are a family run jewellers in Newark-on-Trent. They have an established bricks and mortar store and decided to start offering jewellery online.

Branding and design

Their branding was updated for the new site and then a totally custom design was produced to match the new brand. The site is mobile friendly (Responsive) and changes shape to suit tablet & smartphone sized screens. This is essential nowadays as more and more people are browsing websites on their mobile devices.

OpenCart ecommerce

The design was then built as OpenCart 2 templates. OpenCart takes care of the product catalogue, customer administration and the ordering process. We integrated WorldPay and PayPal to offer customers the choice of payment methods during checkout.

Blogging is a key part of modern online marketing so we added a blog extension to OpenCart to allow Martin Wilkinson to add regular news and product information to their new site.

The OpenCart ecommerce site runs on our fast, UK based green web hosting.

Product import

Entering hundreds of products can be a time consuming, soul destroying task so we set up a batch importer and added their products using a spreadsheet and image upload. This saved weeks of manually entering product data!

Marketing

The team at Martin Wilkinson are familar with using social media and ran a  competition on Facebook to bring attention to the news site which went extremely well. They are adding regular blogs and social media updates and soon started making sales through the site.
