Star Fostering are a new fostering agency in Nottingham who we helped with a WordPress design and build project. As with many of our new clients, Star were recommended to us by another client.

Green Web Hosting

Star use our green web hosting for their website and email accounts, with a free SSL certificate installed to get the green padlock in the browser address bar.

Web Design

Based on their excellent logo and some example images, we created a clear, colourful design that works well on all sizes of screen from mobile phone up to full desktop. As we design from scratch, you’re not limited by an existing theme or template and the site can match your branding perfectly.

WordPress build

We then converted these designs into a fast loading WordPress theme. We don’t use third party themes with all their bloat and compatibility issues (and often a yearly fee), but create lean code that keeps the site fast and things easy to use in the control panel.

Using Advanced Custom Fields we build a ‘flexible content’ template that allows various types of content to be added to pages by selecting them and filling in the gaps. The Yoast SEO plugin helps clients optimise their own content without having to pay an expensive SEO company.

To finish off, security and backup plugins help to keep things safe.

Google Setup

The client’s Google account was used to set up Google Analytics and Search Console so they can keep an eye on their website visitors. The Google Site Kit plugin shows a summary on the WordPress dashboard for convenience. We also recommended they set up a Google Maps listing for an extra chance to get people’s attention in local search results.
